Opening week updates

Here's a look at what's happening with a few Jaeger Sports participants...

Arizona Diamondbacks pitcher Dan Haren threw a gem on Tuesday night in a tough loss. Dan is scheduled to make his second start of the season tomorrow against the Dodgers.

Scott Eyre and the Philadelphia Phillies got their World Series rings.  "They said they would be nice," Scott told the Philadelphia Inquirer, "but this is ridiculous."

Jason Kubel is the new cleanup hitter for the Minnesota Twins.

Tigers fireballer Joel Zumaya is scheduled to make his season debut today for Lakeland in the Florida State League. Tigers manager Jim Leyland told the Detroit News that he wants Joel in the Tigers bullpen and "he will be a welcome addition when he comes back because that's a little gap we really need (to fill) right now."

Also making his season debut today, Jason Hirsh is starting for the Colorado Springs SkySox (Rockies AAA) today against the Las Vegas 51's (Jays AAA). You can follow Jason's start live on milb.com.

Baseball America named 2009 Pro Camp participant Mike Montgomery as the #2 pitching prospect in the Kansas City Royals organization.
