Updates: China McCarney drafted by Rays! Zumaya tops 100mph 19 times in one game; Haren leads NL in ERA

Congratulations to CSUN pitcher (and Jaeger Sports YouTube phenomenon) China McCarney who was drafted by the American League champion Tampa Bay Rays!

And here are a few updates on some other Jaeger Sports students around the game...

From ESPN.com's Jayson Stark: "Joel Zumaya was clocked at 100 miles per hour or above on 19 different pitches in the same outing Sunday. How crazy is that? According to the 2009 Bill James Handbook, only one pitcher in baseball hit 100 that many times all last season. That was Jonathan Broxton, who did it 26 times."

Andrew Bailey secured the role of closer for the A's with his fifth save of the year.

Dan Haren is off to an amazing start this season. He has started 13 games for the Diamondbacks, with 12 quality starts, which leads the majors.  He also leads the majors in WHIP with 0.85(!) and leads the NL in ERA.

Geoff Blum came up huge for the Astros with game-winning hits on two consecutive days this week, both times to beat the Cubs.

In the minors, Jason Hirsh earned the win for the Colorado Sky Sox (Rockies AAA) on Wednesday.
